Winter Solstice sunrise at Karnak temple complex, near Luxor, Egypt

Welcome to the 7 Sacred Days of Solstice/Equinox Empowerment Ritual!   At these pivotal times of year we can use the energies to grow, make changes and transform more easily than any other time of the year!  The ancients knew this and built temples that would create direct alignments through the sanctuaries to altars at the exact time of sunrise on these days.  Special rituals were held and people would gather from far and wide to partake in the blessings this sacred communion with nature.

We too can partake in the magic by creating rituals wherever you are.  This particular ritual is from Lazaris a channeled nonphysical entity. “He is a consciousness without form – a Spark of Light, a Spark of Love – an energy that has never chosen to take human form. He is most frequently known as the “vertical elliptic of light who waits for us at the edge of our reality.”  Since 1974, Lazaris has channeled through Jach Pursel, his only channel, offering his friendship and love and generating a remarkable body of tools, techniques, processes, and pathways for our Spiritual Journey to God/Goddess/All That Is.”

This ritual is recommended for the 7 sacred days that encompass the Equinoxes and Solstices and contains the following information:

1.  Setting a Sacred Space
2.  Your Manifestation and Release Worksheet
3.  The 7 Day Ritual

Monday, December 21, 2015 at 11:48 PM EST, 8:48 PM, PST, and 6:48 PM HST

RITUAL DATES Dec 18th-24th

Creating a Sacred Space

To create a sacred space in which to do this spiritual work, find a place in your home that will be relatively undisturbed.

Begin by cleansing the space with some sage or washing it down with some salt water.

Items to be placed on the Altar:

1.  Candle (Fire)
2.  Bowl with some Earth
3.  A bowl filled 3/4 with Water & 3 drops of oil (any kind, olive oil is great)
4.  An Empty bowl (representing Air)

In addition to these elements you can add anything that you calls to you which feels sacred.  For example:  pictures, aromatherapy, things from nature, etc.

The 7 Day Daily Ritual

Center yourself and light the candle.

Spend a few minutes gazing into the flame to clear anything that might be pulling at you in this moment.

Write out on a small piece of paper the corresponding itemized list for the day.

Fold it in 1/2 and then fold it in 1/2 again

Hold the paper in one hand and then with the other:
1) dip your fingers into the Water
2) hold them over the Flame
3) touch the Earth
4) swirl your fingers clockwise in the empty bowl
5) take the paper and light it with the flame and let it fall into the Earth
6) spend 5-15 minutes in meditation.  When releasing it is good to gaze into the candle flame during this time as it is very purifying.  When empowering, envision your new outcome as already manifested — see, feel, experience yourself as already actualizing what you are desiring to manifest.  Give it up to Spirit, closing with “Thy will be done” and know that this or something more in alignment with your soul purpose shall come to fruition.

Days 1-3 Embracing the Shadow

If you are Human, you have a Shadow side.  The Shadow side of self holds all of those energies, thought patterns and habits we are taught to deem as bad and make us feel fearful and unworthy.  So we usually stuff them down, try to ignore or deny them, pretend they don’t exist.  We can end up hiding behind a mask our whole lives, showing the world only those parts of our selves we want everyone to see so people will “love” and accept us.  But under pressure, fatigue other circumstances when our guards and masks come down, our scary shadow may come up and make themselves clearly known!  Feelings we stuff down into our dark shadowy sides can include anger, fear, greed, hostility, controlling, aggressive, addictive behaviors.  The things we stuff into the dark recesses our our beings are all of the things we consider “unacceptable” and need to be controlled often end showing up as disease, dysfunctional relationships or addictions.  Truly stuffing and ignoring is not the “soul”-ution, the path to enlightenment is one that can be present to everything.  To be divine is to be whole.  When we are finally able to embrace our “shadow” selves and when we stop running from it and include it, we open our hearts to the possibility of true freedom.

Day 1:  Declare the patterns of behavior (mental, emotional, spiritual, physical) that are up for healing and transformation  (2-4 items).  For example addictions, compulsions, habits (smoking, drinking, sugar, caffeine, etc.)

Day 2:  Declare emotional tendencies you want to release, heal or transform (2-4 items). Examples, Feeling too angry too quickly, afraid of being criticized, being over reactive.

Day 3:  Declare the shadow/dark side of yourself that is up for healing and transformation.  Martyrhood, manipulative, controlling, dominating nature, shadow side, dark side of self. (2-4 items)

Day 4:  State all changes in process.  Things that you are currently working on changing and want to continue working on changing (3-4 items) … example you may recognize that you have a fear of intimacy and that you are working on it.  Or you may recognize that you are working on improving your health habits.

Day 5:  State all programming that is ongoing (6-10 items).  Things you are working on manifesting.  Be discerning, realistic … be honest what are you engaged in creating at this particular time.

Day 6:  List new desires – things you want to create within the next 3 month period. (6-10 items)

Day 7:  State and restate personal and global dreams that you don’t necessarily expect to manifest within the next 3 months (2-4 items)

virgo-4The Virgin Mary is the constellation Virgo, also known as Virgo the Virgin.  Virgo in Latin means virgin.

“The goddesses have stories to tell. One such story—far too long ignored—is that, in their original, unadulterated form, they were parthenogenetic. The word parthenogenesis comes from the Greek parthenos, ‘virgin’ more or less, and gignesthai, ‘to be born.’ It means, essentially, to be born of a virgin—that is, without the participation of a male. For a goddess to be ‘parthenogenetic’ thus means that she stands as a primordial creatrix, who requires no male partner to produce the cosmos, earth, life, matter and even other gods out of her own essence. Plentiful evidence shows that in their earliest cults, before they were subsumed under patriarchal pantheons as the wives, sisters and daughters of male  gods, various female deities of the ancient Mediterranean world were indeed considered self-generating, virgin creatrixes.”

Dr. Marguerite Rigoglioso, Virgin Mother Goddesses of Antiquity (1)

“The ancient glyph for Virgo is the altered “M”.  This is why Mary along with other virgin mothers, such as Adonis’s mother Myrra, or Buddha’s mother Maya begin with an M.  Virgo is also referred to as the House of Bread, and the representation of Virgo is a virgin holding a sheaf of wheat.  This House of Bread and its symbol of wheat represents August and September, the time of harvest.  In turn, Bethlehem, in fact, literally translates to “house of bread”.  Bethlehem is thus a reference to the constellation Virgo, a place in the sky, not on Earth.”

“As it turns out, the Virgin Mary … is founded upon older goddesses. Following on the heels of goddesses such as Aphrodite, Astarte, Cybele, Demeter, Hathor, Inanna, Ishtar and Isis, Mary is “both virgin and mother, and, like many of them, she gives birth to a half-human, half-divine child, who dies and is reborn.” (Baring, 548) Regarding the Great Mother Goddess, upon whom Mary is based and whose names are legion, in Forerunners and Rivals of Christianity (II, 45) Francis Legge says:

“Her most prominent characteristics show her to be a personification of the Earth, the mother of all living, ever bringing forth and ever a virgin…”

2015 Geminids Forecast
This year the Geminids will peak during daylight on December 14 across the United States but will still offer good meteor rates the night before and the night after (starting at 9-10 p.m.) through the early morning hours of 13-14 and 14-15 of December. The near new moon will not interfere with observing on either night.

Fast Facts

  • Origin: 3200 Phaethon (an asteroid or a possible “rock comet”)
  • Radiant: constellation Gemini
  • Active: 4-17 December
  • Peak Activity: 14 Dec. 2015
  • Peak Activity Meteor Count: Approximately 120 meteors per hour
  • Meteor Velocity: 35 km (22 miles) per second

About the Meteor Shower
The Geminids, which peak during mid-December each year, are considered to be one of the best and most reliable annual meteor showers. The Geminids did not start out that way. The Geminids first began appearing in the mid-1800s. However, the first showers were not noteworthy with only 10 – 20 meteors seen per hour. Since that time, the Geminids have grown to become one of the most major showers of the year. During its peak, 120 Geminid meteors can be seen per hour under perfect conditions. The Geminids are bright and fast meteors and tend to be yellow in color.

Viewing Tips
The Geminids are best viewed during the night and pre-dawn hours and are visible across the globe due to a nearly 24-hour broad maximum. This shower is considered one of the best opportunities for young viewers since this shower starts around 9 or 10 p.m. To view the Geminids, find an area well away from city or street lights. Come prepared for winter temperatures with a sleeping bag, blanket or lawn chair. Lie flat on your back with your feet facing south and look up, taking in as much of the sky as possible. After about 30 minutes in the dark, your eyes will adapt and you will begin to see meteors. Be patient — the show will last until dawn, so you have plenty of time to catch a glimpse.

Where Do Meteors Come From?
Meteors come from leftover comet particles and bits from asteroids. When these objects come around the sun, they leave a dusty trail behind them. Every year the Earth passes through these debris trails, which allows the bits to collide with our atmosphere where they disintegrate to create fiery and colorful streaks in the sky.

The Asteroid
Unlike most meteor showers which originate from comets, the Geminids originate from an asteroid: 3200 Phaethon. Asteroid 3200 Phaethon takes 1.4 years to orbit the sun once. It is possible that Phaethon is a “dead comet” or a new kind of object being discussed by astronomers called a “rock comet.” Phaethon’s comet-like highly elliptical orbit around the sun gives credence to this hypothesis. However, scientists are not certain how to define Phaethon. When Phaethon passes by the sun it does not develop a cometary tail, and its spectra looks like a rocky asteroid. Also, the bits and pieces (2-3 gm/cc) that break off to form the Geminid meteoroids are also several times denser than cometary dust flakes (0.3 gm/cc).

3200 Phaethon was discovered on 11 October 1983 by the Infrared Astronomical Satellite. Due to its close approach to the sun, Phaethon is named after the character of Greek myth who drove the sun-god Helios’ chariot. Phaethon is a small asteroid — its diameter measures only 5.10 km (3.17 miles) across. It was astronomer Fred Whipple who realized that Phaethon is the source for the Geminid meteors.

The Radiant
Their radiant — the point in the sky from which the Geminids appear to come from — is the constellation Gemini, the “Twins.” The constellation of Gemini is also where we get the name for the shower: Geminids. Note: The constellation for which a meteor shower is named only serves to aid viewers in determining which shower they are viewing on a given night. The constellation is not the source of the meteors. Also, you should not look only to the constellation of Gemini to view the Geminids — they are visible throughout the night sky.

It’s 12/12! Virgin of Guadelupe Day! It was said that she appeared in Mexico City on December 9 and 12, 1953!

It is also said that she and the Egyptian goddess Isis are the same being and that her form/name changed when the slaves were brought from African to South America and forced into Christianity.

The number 12 represents the 12th sign of Pisces and Christ Conscousness! It combines the 1 = stay positive and 2 = keep the faith (according to Doreen Virtue)! “together 12 is a strong message to stay positive, optimistic and filled with faith!”

There are 13 days before the 25th the day that the light begins its official return! 13 is the number of Venus the goddess of Love … Also associated with the great mother goddess Isis!

The Isis star Sirius is the blue star in the East that the Magi were said to flow and that aligns with the 3 kings of Orion’s (Osirius’) belt on the morning of Solstice and the rebirth of the Sun!

Blessed New Moon in Sagittarius! The Centaur reminds us to focus on our dreams and not only to shoot for the stars but to pay attention to them for guidance and wisdom!

Mystical Alchemy’s Full Holy Day Schedule http://we purl.com/bjvXP1

We are in the sacred time of the Makahiki!  In Hawaiian culture this is a sacred time as the Makali’i hiki or the rising of the Pleiades, also known as the 7 Sisters, making their 4 lunar month sojourn across our night sky.  This is a time to stop warring and reflect on that which we have harvested.  Time to check in with our tribe, share the abundance, hear of each others stories and what we have learned.  Come together with all of collective wisdom, allow time for the earth to regenerate, and formulate a plan for the coming cycle.  Deep thank you to Pua Case and all who shared in this sacred invocation of the season.

The time of the Makahiki is sacred for the ancient Hawaiians.  It marks a time when all heavy labor, farming, fishing and warring cease and elaborate rituals and a time of observed peace begins.  It spans four consecutive lunar months from around October/November to February/March.  It begins when the Pleiades, Na-huihui-o-makali’i, or “cluster of little eyes” als o huhui rises in the night sky at sunset, and ends when the Pleiades rises at sunrise and is no longer visible in the night sky.  The Pleiades factor into creation stories by virtually every culture on earth including Native Americans, Maoris of New Zealand, the Mayans, Africans and in Greek mythology where they are known as the Seven Sisters or Seven Doves, in the Egyptian pantheon they are associated with Neith the “divine mother” and with the goddess Hathor who often appears in the form of a cow and carries the seeds of life!

The Hawaiian’s believed that all parts of Nature were manifestations of the divine and that this was a time to celebrate Lono, the god of fertility, rain, war, agriculture and fishing.  This is a time to celebrate the earth’s abundance to distribute it among the community and to give thanks!  It is also a time of assessment of that which was harvested and as well as being an important time to recognize that our precious resources have limitations and need to have the time and space to replenish.

This was a time of renewal for the land, people and sea so all heavy work, farming and fishing came to a halt.  The Makahiki is a time to restore, plan, bond, repair on multiple levels and especially to honor the god Lono’s power to ensure future crops!
